A double-sided pad with micro grit (too fine to damage or reduce the shaft diameter) on one side to clean and smooth and on the other to a finer grit to burnish & seal the wood pores of the shaft; prevent moisture from penetrating the wood. The pads grit can be washed and reused numerous times.
