The ultimate in billiards technology and performance. Made of carbon fiber composite, REVO shafts incorporate more than twenty years of technological innovation and testing. REVO shafts feature the lightest front end mass, the lowest rate of rise taper, greatest radial consistency, and most durable construction. The result? The most accurate billiards shaft in the world at both low and high speeds, featuring the smoothest finish, the most spin, and uncompromising durability and strength

REVO FRONT-END CONSTRUCTION

Vault Plate
The patent pending Vault Plate completely re-configures the stress points between the Victory Tip, V-TEK Tip Silencer, R2 molecular multi-density foam, and carbon fiber composite tube to create a construction that is stronger from every axis with less mass and a higher level of kinetic energy transfer.

R2 Molecular Multi-Density Foam
The R2 molecular multi-density foam fills the shaft with multiple densities at specific locations to increase or decrease stiffness and transfer consistent feedback to the player’s hand.

V-TEK Fiber Tip Silencer
The V-TEK Tip Silencer creates a stronger and more tactile gluing surface that protects the Vault Plate, while creating an audibly pleasing sound upon contact with the ball

REVO CARBON COMPOSITE CONSTRUCTION

Unidirectional Aerospace Grade Carbon Fiber Tow Woven fibers have long been the expected standard of carbon fiber construction, but they are not necessarily the best for every application. We have long recognized both the strength and the function of carbon fiber weave, however, recent advances in fiber technology and construction techniques have led Predator to take a different design approach. Previously, a woven fabric was the norm for the outermost covering of any carbon component. Now, new aerospace grade carbon fiber tow construction methods and new fiber placement theories allow us to tune the shaft by orienting the carbon fiber tow in the directions most suitable for a particular location in the shaft itself. This composite is formed using unidirectional aerospace grade carbon fiber tow impregnated with our proprietary resin and filled with R2 molecular multi-density foam.

REVO LOW RISE TAPER

Low-Rise Taper
The low-rise taper is the result of the REVO 12.4 and 12.9 shafts’ unique construction and strength. This build allows for an extremely straight taper that only increases five percent on the REVO 12.9 and eight percent on the REVO 12.4, over the first fourteen inches of the shaft.

Low-Friction Surface Finish
The extremely smooth and maintainable REVO shaft surface is created by our specially developed carbon fiber polishing process. This process involves measuring the shaft’s surface. Using a diamond stylus profilometer we measure every shaft and maintain a strict tolerance we call “Predator’s surface finish motif” which keeps the shaft from being either under polished (creating a less than desirable rough finish) or over polished (creating a glossy or sticky surface often exhibited on low-quality fiberglass composite shafts).

Victory Tip
Eight layers of pure performance, each tip is constructed to the most exacting standards and was developed to maintain optimum compression for the entire life of the tip. Its high-contrast color allows for improved sighting and shaping.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How much more accurate are the REVO shafts?
Predator REVO shafts are on average 5-10% more accurate than Predator’s third-generation shafts, depending on the velocity of the cue ball, distance to the object ball, and amount of spin used.

Do the REVO shafts play like Predator spliced shafts?
Predator REVO shafts have even lower deflection than Predator spliced shafts and an even greater hit consistency, but they do feel somewhat different. From their ultra low-friction surface, to the sound they make upon impact with the ball, playing with a Predator REVO shaft is a different experience.

What is the difference between the REVO 12.4 and 12.9 shafts?
The key difference between the REVO 12.4 and 12.9 shafts is their respective diameters. The two sizes were developed to offer players more comfort and varied tip placement options. Because of their low-rise taper, there is only a 3% percent difference in rise between the two models, when measured over the first fourteen inches from the tip. Bridge comfort and tip diameter preference should be the main consideration in electing a preferred REVO shaft diameter.

What joint types are the REVO 12.4 and 12.9 shafts available in?
The Predator REVO shafts are available for Uni-Loc® Quick Release and Uni-Loc Radial® Joints.

Why do REVO shafts sound different on different cues?
Predator REVO shafts have a unique acoustic signature. Because of its build, it is capable of amplifying sound at a much greater rate than wood, providing audible feedback that articulates how each shot was struck. This feedback changes in tone when paired with varying joint collars, inserts, and fitments.

Do Predator REVO shafts come in any other colors?
No, they are only available in carbon matte gray/black. Any attempt to change or modify the color would alter and damage the low-friction surface finish on the shaft and add unnecessary weight.

Can I break with a REVO shaft?
Yes, you can break with a REVO shaft; it’s strong enough, but it is not optimized for breaking. Its construction was developed as a playing shaft.

Is it possible to warp a REVO shaft?
While it may be “possible”, we haven’t been able to achieve this feat. REVO shafts are guaranteed to never warp and feature a limited-lifetime warranty. In testing we placed REVO shafts in a freezer, various high-humidity environments, and even in an oven; each time the shafts held their remarkable straightness.

Can you ding REVO shafts?
Predator REVO shafts are highly ding-resistant and their surface is much stronger than wood. They can be scratched, and sharp edges can cut the finish, but no typical impacts in testing have damaged the REVO shafts’ surface.

Can I change the taper or diameter of a REVO shaft?
No, the taper and the diameter must remain the same. Any change would not only destroy the Predator REVO shafts’ low-friction finish, but would also compromise performance, damaging the micro-thin layers of unidirectional carbon fiber tow and releasing potentially hazardous carbon fiber dust as well.

Do Predator REVO shafts have a ferrule?
No, Predator REVO shafts do not have a ferrule. Because of the stiffness and strength of the carbon fiber composite construction, there is no need to add the additional weight and mass of a ferrule to the shafts’ construction. Doing so would decrease the shafts’ superb accuracy.

Can you change the tip on REVO shafts?
Yes, you can change the tip on any REVO shaft. We recommend only having the tip replaced at an authorized Predator Repair Center. Due to the shaft’s more complex construction, extra care must be used in changing the tip, insuring that the shaft isn’t sanded and the Vault Plate and V-Tek tip silencer maintain their appropriate dimensions

Why do REVO shafts come with a soft tip?
Because of the increased stiffness and energy transfer of REVO shafts, our testing indicated players preferred a somewhat softer tip, and for that reason we elected to make the Predator Victory Soft Tip standard.

How do you maintain or clean a REVO shaft’s surface?
Never use abrasives or chemicals on a REVO shaft; doing so will damage the shaft’s surface and performance. To clean a REVO shaft’s surface, simply brush off any exterior dirt with the supplied microfiber cleaning cloth, and then wipe the shaft with a REVO cleaning wipe or a soft cloth treated with isopropyl alcohol (90%).
